The G6 is the upcoming LG flagship. Out on February 26th at MWC 2017 will feature numerous new implemented tech which is said to bring the flagship phone to the frontline.

General overview

The LG G6, looks wise will have about the same body as the LG G5 without a physical home button and an easy-to-access power and volume buttons on the backside of the phone coming in black, navy blue and another undisclosed color.

Water resistance & Scratch resistance

With a 5.7 inch screen, the size compares to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge along with water resistance up to 1 meter in water submerged for up to 30 minutes. The IPS LCD multi-touch screen is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 meaning it’s scratch resistant and shatter resistant.

New DAC Chip for better sound

With the new Quad DAC 32-bit chip for superior sound quality, a quote by LG

“The quad DACs implement four DACs on a single chip, reducing the size by a factor of four and lowering noise by up to 50% when using one DAC”

Claims for having better sound control, quality and balancing overall. This technology will be implemented into the LG G6

Operating system and internal storage

The phone will ship with the Android OS v7.0 Nougat with the LG Optimus UX 6.0 UI (user interface) and with only two options of either 64 or 128GB internal memory with an upgradable memory SD-Card slot of up to 256GB.

Rumors claim that the price will be a competitive $750/ €690 euros, but realistically the price may vary quite a bit anywhere from $100/ €80 to $150/ €135. Even though there are many other choices which offer similar specs on paper and a more modest price like the OnePlus 3T up for pre-order at a price of $480.
